On Saturday afternoon at 3:39pm units from Winfield, New Windsor and Mt. Airy were alerted for a vehicle collision with rescue in the 3500 Block of Ridge Road (Route 27). Units arrived to an overturned wood chipper truck with the driver still trapped inside the truck. Duty 14 (Chief 14-2) established command. Crews from Engine 141, Engine 102 and Rescue 1 worked to stabilize the truck with chains to an anchor point on the rescue engine before removing the roof of the truck to extricate the patient. E142 assisted on scene before moving north of the scene to assist Utility 14 with a landing site. The single patient was flown via medivac to Shock Trauma with non-life threating injuries. Maryland Route 27 remained closed for the duration of the incident.

Units: Engine 141, Engine 142, Medic 14, Duty 14, Utility 14

Mutual Aid: Engine 102 (New Windsor), Rescue 1, Utility 1 (Mt. Airy), Maryland State Police Medivac Trooper 3
