The Winfield Community Volunteer Fire Department is proud to announce that Vice President Robert "Mo" Farver was inducted into the Carroll County Volunteer Emergency Services Association (CCVESA) Hall of Fame earlier this month.

Robert joined the Winfield Community Volunteer Fire Department in 1973. Since joining the department Robert has held the following offices:

• Secretary (1977 – 1978)
• EMS Captain (1984 – 1985)
• Assistant Treasurer (1990)
• Board of Directors (1986 – 1988, 1993 – 1995, 1997 -1998, 2002, 2012)
• Vice President (2004 – 2011) (2019 – Present)
• President (2013 – 2018)

Robert currently serves on the following committees:

• Carroll County Volunteer Emergency Services Public Information Officer Committee
• Winfield Community Volunteer Fire Department Paid Personnel Committee
• Winfield Community Volunteer Fire Department Carnival Committee
• Winfield Community Volunteer Fire Department $50,000 Cash Giveaway Fundraising Committee
• Winfield Community Volunteer Fire Department All Day Bingo Fundraising Committee
• Winfield Community Volunteer Fire Department Building HVAC Upgrade Construction Committee

Robert has been known for many outstanding accomplishments since serving as an Officer which have included;

• Obtaining a low interest loan in for the replacement of our front-line pumper, Engine 141
• Obtaining a low interest loan in for the building mechanical (HVAC) upgrade project
• Obtaining a grant to replace the station generator
• Upgrading all carnival buildings and carnival grounds

• Receiving the Shock Trauma Hero Award in 2016 for his outstanding work on a call that saved a young girls life
• Obtaining a low interest loan in for the replacement of our front-line medic unit, Medic 149

In addition to the leading our department as an Executive Officer, Robert is a very active first responder. He is one of our best trained emergency vehicle operators. He is always delighted when fulfilling the role of driving one of the pumpers or tanker on a working fire incident. There is no doubt he is very enthusiastic about helping others in the community in the time of need.

His smiling face can always be seen on the grounds at every fundraising event the fire department conducts. In 2019 he logged over 225 hours of fundraising and is always present thanking the folks in our community for their generosity and support making our department one of the best in the State of Maryland.

Robert is a friend to all and considered family to most around the station. He has made a tremendous impact since joining our department in 1973. We are very happy to see him inducted into the CCVESA Hall of Fame!
