On the morning of July 1, 2025, at 0357 hrs, Winfield and surrounding departments were alerted for a building fire in the 2600 block of Liberty Road.

Crews arrived to an active fire and worked to extinguish the fire. Crews were on the scene for several hours before turning everything over to the Maryland State Fire Marshal.

A team of Deputy State Fire Marshals and K9 Blondie were on the scene throughout the day. The origin and cause of the fire remain under investigation.
