As a Kick Off to Fire Prevention Week, the Winfield Fire Department visited Winfield Elementary School on October 6th. The entire school participated in a fire drill and did a wonderful job. K and first grade answered fire prevention questions, tried on fire gear, watched a firefighter get dressed in full turnout gear and took a tour of the engine. They also viewed a 10 minute safety video. Each child received a plastic fire hat at the end of the tour.
More school visits are planned for later this week -
Prevent Home Fires is this year's fire prevention week theme. Visit our fire prevention page for more information.
