After 11 long years, the dedication and opening ceremonies of the Ronnie Legore Memorial Field was held today. Wanda Legore and the committee, made up of several dedicated individuals, have been diligently raising funds to build this field for the past several years. Scott and Tim Legore, Ronnie's sons, spoke at the dedication and thanked all of the businesses and individuals that helped to make this field possible. A flag ceremony then took place by the Scouts and a story read by Pat Boone on behalf of Gary Rains who was unable to attend today. After the county rep said a few words Wanda announced "Play Ball" and Tim then threw the first pitch to his son Owen, and the second pitch to his daughter Amber; they ran the bases in honor of their grandfather. The "Old Timers" then took the field to play a game in Ronnie's honor. Refreshments were provided by the Winfield Fire Department.
