Units were dispatched for a reported combine and corn field on fire in the 5500 block of Cabbage Spring Road. Chief 1 arrived, established command, and confirmed working combine fire and requested an additional tanker and brush truck due to high wind conditions. Engine 142 and Tanker 14 were the first units to arrive and crews quickly went to work bringing the fire under control. Brush 15 and Brush 145 arrived and helped protect the adjacent corn field exposure. Rescue 1 and Engine 12 assisted Engine 142 with overhaul and foam operations. Units went in service at approximately 22:50 hrs.
