On Monday evening Jan. 10th Winfield and Mt. Airy Fire Departments were alerted at 18:37 hours for a motor vehicle accident with a reported rescue. Utility 1-1 and Chief 14-1 were the first to arrive. Chief 14-1 set up the Ridge Road Command and advised a working rescue with 1 person trapped. The car was wedged between two trees on its side, with the driver pinned inside. Crews from Engine 141 and Rescue 1 worked together to extricate the patient. Units went in service at 19:30 hours.
