Sykesville Brownie Troop #1559, led by Scout Leader Terry Blaney, visited the Winfield station this evening. They discussed exit drills in the home (EDITH), stop drop and roll, how wildfires start and what we can do to prevent them, along with safe campfire practices and women in the fire service.
They also tried on turnout gear, toured the station and equipment and practiced dialing 911 and giving pertinent information utilizing the 911 simulator.
At the conclusion of the tour they were given a plastic fire hat and a grid to draw a fire escape plan on with their family.
