On Thursday evening October 22, 2009 at 17:31 hours crews were dispatched for a reported house fire at the intersection of Route 26 & White Rock Road. First arriving units arrived in the 5700 block of White Rock Road with heavy fire and smoke showing from the rear of the structure and advised it was a working house fire. Chief 14 (Tim Warner) had command of the incident with Chief 13 (Charlie Green) assisting with the operations division. Two Winfield Firefighters were transported to Carroll Hospital Center for evaluation and were soon released. Route 26 remained closed for the duration of the incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Units cleared and went in service at 21:00 hours.
