Early Friday morning July 3rd at approximately 2:40am units from Winfield Community Volunteer Fire Department and surrounding fire departments were dispatched to assist Libertytown Fire Department for a reported barn fire in the 14800 Block of Oak Orchard Road. Frederick County Chief 900 was the first to arrive on scene with a barn fully involved and established command. A tanker task force and additional resources were requested.

Engine 142 arrived and the crew assisted with fire attack while the pumper relocated to the secondary fill site off Route 31. Tanker 14 arrived and hauled water for the duration of the incident from a fill site off Sam's Creek Road. Engine 141 also responded.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Fredrick County's Fire Marshal's office.
