On Monday afternoon at 3:45pm members from the Winfield Community Volunteer Fire Department responded to a vehicle collision on W Liberty Road (Route 26) at the intersection of Freter Road. Units arrived to a two vehicle collision with one of the vehicles fully engulfed with fire. The patient was able to self extricate from the vehicle and was transported via Medic 149 to a local hospital. Crews from Engine 141 and Tanker 14 worked quickly to extinguish the fire. Route 26 remained closed for the duration of the incident.
