1st Due Garage Building fire on Hoopers Delight Road

On January 28th around 0245 in the morning Structure Alarm 10-14 was sounded for a small building fire. Engine 141 quickly responded with 4 personnel, upon calling enroute Carroll County Dispatch Center notified units responding that the location had been changed from an address on Hooper road to an address on Hooper's Delight Road making it a 14-11 box and the 911 caller advised it was a large building on fire and dispatch was going to fill out the Box alarm assignment. First arriving Lieutenant 14-4 (Beadenkopf) advised he was on scene of a approximately 50x30 Garage building fully involved and quickly established command and requested the Tanker Task Force. Engine 141 was next to arrive and deployed several hose lines to contain and control the fire. Crews from Winfield along with several other companies worked in unison to control and extinguish the fire. Crews operated on scene for approximately 3 1/2 hours before returning to service. The Maryland State Fire Marshals Office is currently investigating the cause of the fire.
