For the second year in a row the Winfield Community Volunteer Department was awarded the Volunteer Fire Assistance (VFA) grant from Maryland Department of Natural Resources. With this grant WCVFD will be able to replace 4 dry fire hydrants that are located on bridges in our response area. These dry hydrants are over 10 years old and need replacement. WCVFD will also be upgrading 10 underground tank connections from 4" to 6" thus reducing time setting up a draft site. Both dry fire hydrants and underground tanks are a very important part of rural water supply as most our fire district does not have fire hydrants. A special thank you to Maryland Department of Natural Resources for awarding WCVFD this grant.
