On Sunday, June 21, many gathered to watch the 36th Annual Miss Fire Prevention Contest at the Convention Center in Ocean City, MD.
Safe Kids-Risk Watch Program has a new location – Exhibit Hall D is their new and future home during the convention. On Sunday, we set up the 10 learning displays that included dialing 911, home fire safety, water safety, trauma, car seats, distracted driving, etc. Scouts that completed all of the stations can take back their punch card and receive their safety badge from their Scout group. On Tuesday, Winfield was one of 80 departments that received their grant certificate for pre-selected merchandise from Alert-All. The check and certificate were immediately mailed in, hopefully the material arrives before carnival. Winfield also received plaques for both of our fire prevention books; placing 4th overall. |
