House Fire on Putman Road

On January 29th units from Carroll, Howard, and Baltimore Counties were alerted for a house fire in the 900 Block of Putman Road in Sykesville. First arriving Chief 12 reported smoke showing from a two story family dwelling and advised it was a working house fire. Crews from Engine 123 & 124 made a quick attack on the interior of the house. The crew from Rescue Squad 12 assisted with ventilation and ground ladders. Winfield's Engine 142 worked on securing the utilities and overhaul. Engine 141 responded as part of the Rapid Intervention Team. The fire was investigated by the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office and the cause of the fire was unattended cooking.
