50th Anniversary

Although it was discussed in the community for a few years (prior to 1964) that a fire company was surely needed in the Winfield area. After some serious fires and knowing that the nearest fire protection was at least 8-10 miles or further away, it was time to set in motion the forming of a fire department. The first meeting to form and organize the fire department was held at the Winfield Elementary School, November 22, 1964. Many of those Charter members went on to become leaders and officers of the department. Their true dedication and commitment to the fire company still stands true today. As the community and the fire company grew together in size, so did the membership, which has allowed us to carry on the tradition of providing emergency services to the Winfield community and surrounding areas for 50 years.

A Happy "50th" Anniversary to the Winfield Community Volunteer Fire Department. Many thanks to our Charter members, Ladies Auxiliary, past and current members and the community itself, for your support, dedication and commitment to keep the Winfield community a safe place to live.
