On Friday October 3rd at 5:53a.m. Winfield Fire Department was alerted for a motor vehicle accident reported serious involving a pedestrian struck at the intersection of Route 27 & Sam's Creek Road. First arriving Duty 14 advised there was one pedestrian down in the roadway. Chief 14-1 (T. Legore) established the Route 27 Command. Paramedic 149 arrived and confirm this was a fatality. Engine 141 provided scene lighting for Maryland State Police as Route 27 remained closed for several hours while the accident was investigated.
