Field Fire on Mail Road

On Sunday March 15th at 3:25 p.m. Winfield Firefighters were alerted for a brush fire in the 3400 Block of Mail Road. Winfield crews arrived to a field fire involving several large round bails of hay quickly spreading towards an adjacent woods. Duty 14/Chief 14 established the Mail Road Command. Brush 145 quickly went to work intercepting the fire before it spread into the woods. Engine 142 laid 500' of supply line and pulled an attack line to help bring the blaze under control. Tanker 14 & Engine 141 provided water supply for the incident.
