Shortly after 11:00 p.m. on Thursday night May 9th departments on the southern end of Carroll County were alerted for reported working house fire in the 2200 Block of Dulany Terrace. While Captain 14 (Tim Warner) was responding he could see heavy fire from miles away and upgraded the assignment. Captain 14 arrived, established the Dulany Terrace Command and advised there was a barn fully involved with adjacent exposure issues. Engine 142 was the first arriving engine and laid 400' of large diameter hose (LDH) to the scene and pulled a 3" blitz fire attack line to protect the adjacent structures. Engine 141 arrived and pulled an additional hand line to assist with protecting a second structure. Tanker 14 supplied the initial crews with water supply to contain the blaze. Brush 105 setup a fill site from a nearby underground tank in Taylorsville which was used to establish a water shuttle hauling water to the scene for fire attack operations. Crews from surrounding departments worked on extinguishing the blaze and performing overhaul operations. Units cleared and went in service at 1:00 a.m. Friday morning.
