Box 14-09 - Motor Vehicle Crash @ Route 97 & Piney Run Court

Winfield units were dispatched at 10:21 hours for a motor vehicle crash on Route 97 near Piney Run Court. First arriving units found a car versus a dump truck with one trapped in the car. Engine 141 quickly extricated the patient who was transported priority one to Shock Trauma by Paramedic 149. Crews then turned their attention to the dump truck which was off of the roadway with a ruptured saddle tank. Additional resources were requested and crews began the process of containing the fuel leak which had gotten into a stream. The saddle tanks were pumped off and the stream was dammed to contain the fuel. Crews operated for about two hours in the pouring rain before turning the scene over to State Police and State Highway.
