Bear Branch Road Rescue

On Wednesday Night August 15th at 11:11 p.m. Winfield crews were alerted for a vehicle accident in the 3500 Block of Salem Bottom Road. While in route units were advised the accident was actually on Bear Branch Road in the area of Chanter Drive. First arriving units advised there was a car off the road over an embankment with one person trapped and requested the full rescue assignment. Duty 14 arrived and Chief 14 established Bear Branch Road Command and requested aviation. Engine 141 and Utility 14 worked on extricating the patient from the vehicle in the stream. Rescue Squad 12 established a landing site at Clearview Airport for MSP Trooper 1, and the patient was flown to Maryland Shock Trauma. Units went in service at 12:15 a.m.
