| Early Monday morning, Winfield and surrounding fire departments were alerted at 4:32 a.m. for a reported house fire in the 5800 Block of Bethel Road. While in route units were advised the homeowner called reported the rear of their house was on fire. Chief 14 arrived and established Bethel Road Command and advised there were two sheds to the rear of the house fully involved with multiple exposure concerns. Engine 142 arrived and quickly deployed a 2" attack line containing the fire and saving any damage to the house. Tanker 14 provided water supply for the extinguishment. Crews from Howard Engine 41 and Mt. Airy Engine 12 assisted with overhaul operations. Units cleared and went in service at 5:46 a.m. The fire is under investigation by the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office. |
