| Delmarva Power in Salisbury, MD, donated 60 visual smoke alarms today to the Maryland State Fire Marshal's office, earmarked for Eastern Shore residents. Due to this donation, alarms have been redistributed and we have more alarms available for residents across the entire State of Maryland. Smoke alarms are essential for all segments of our society. Members of the deaf and hard of hearing community are not served by conventional audible smoke alarms. Visual smoke alarms have been developed for those who can not adequately detect the sound of an audible alarm. Through the means of a bright strobe light as well as a supplemental audible alarm visual smoke alarms will warn deaf and hard of hearing occupants of a hazardous situation. If you are in need of a visual smoke alarm and are unable to locate one or afford one contact Debbie at 410-795-1333 x336, debbiegartrell@comcast.net or print out and mail in the form from the FABSCOM website www.FABSCOM.org |
