First Due Garage Fire from Lightning Strike

On Thursday Morning August 12th at 06:52 hours crews from Winfield and Mt. Airy were alerted for a Garage Fire in the 5100 Block of Perry Road. Duty 14 was the first to arrive and Chief 14-1 (Zach Schneider) established command advising Working Garage Fire with fire showing from the first floor and smoke from the roof level. Engine 142 arrived and laid 233' of 5' supply line and the crew made a quick interior attack. Engine 12 arrived and pulled a secondary line to backup the crew inside for safety. Rescue 1 worked ventilation and overhaul with the other crews. Tanker 14 supplied water for incident and Engine 141 established a water supply source at Braddock & Skidmore Road. Crews went in service at 08:23 hours.
