Winfield Community Volunteer Fire Department is pleased to offer a Water Safety for Kids course. This course is designed to raise children’s awareness of safe behavior in, on and around the water.

We will be using the curriculum and materials provided by The American Red Cross. One way to help reduce drowning incidents among children ages 5 through 12 is to teach water safety education. The American Red Cross created Longfellow’s WHALE Tales to help leaders teach children about safe behavior in, on and around the water. Using hands-on activities and age appropriate videos, children will learn important safety tips for water activities.

Children will not be placed in the water; they will learn safe behaviors to be used when around the water.
