At last night's Membership Meeting, we were able to recognize one of our own members for being accepted into the Carroll County Volunteer Emergency Services Association Hall of Fame.
Scott Dayhoff joined Winfield in October 1976. Since then, Scott has helped in a variety of roles, including: Fire Lieutenant, EMS Captain, Treasurer, Board of Director, County Budget Committee, LOSAP Chairman, EMS Billing expert, and the list goes on.
He has held his EMT License since 1978. To this day, he is one of our most active riding members. In fact, last month, Scott recorded the 6th most calls of our volunteer members and is in the top ten (currently number 3) of volunteer responders in YTD calls.
Scott is an invaluable asset to Winfield. He can be found several days a week at the station by 5am, where he will be working on maintenance items around the station. He is also instrumental in our Driver's Training program.
Somehow, even after all his time at Winfield, he is still able to enjoy his second home in Ocean City, MD.
Winfield Community VFD is incredibly lucky to have Scott and several other members like him. We would not be able to function without the dedication and pride that Scott has shown for nearly 50 years.
Our community is better because of Scott. Thank you for all you have done and for everything you will continue to do! |
