At 05:23am units from the Western Side of Carroll County were called to assist Frederick County on their Box Alarm 17-22 for a reported house fire in the area of Oak Orchard Road and Barnes Road. First Arriving Engine 172 found a large barn fully involved, requested the Safety Task Force and established Oak Orchard Road Command. Engine 142's staffing assisted with overhaul while the Tanker made two laps in the rural water supply shuttle. The barn ended up being a total loss however several structures close to the barn were saved. The Winfield units operated for almost two hours prior to returning to service. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
