As the first snow fall of the year was coming down, members of the Winfield Volunteer Fire Department waited vigilantly for the bells to go off. The volunteers of Winfield responded to 3 accidents, 1 of which was with rescue. The first accident was located at the south end of Woodbine Road in the 6900 block for a reported car into a tree.
As soon as E141 backed into the station, Station 14 was alerted for a vehicle collision with report of rescue at the intersection of Route 97 and Bartholow Road. As E141 arrived they found vehicles scattered over the roadway with a confirmed rescue. Chief 14 had command and extrication was quickly done. Units cleared and went back to the station to wait for another.
And just like Deja vue, Winfield Units were alerted again for a accident at the same intersection with report of rescue. Paramedic 149 arrived quickly and advised incoming units there was no rescue at location however they had to transport patients to Carroll Hospital Center.
The Volunteers of Winfield would like to remind everyone to use caution when driving in potentially hazardous weather.
