On Tuesday evening at 7:47pm calls flooded the Carroll County 911 Center for a reported building fire at Bolen's Bull Pen Restaurant located at the intersection of Liberty Road and Klees Mill Road. Units arrived to find heavy fire showing from the building and quickly begun a defensive attack. Chief 12 (E Ruch Jr.) had command of the incident while responding apparatus laid 2,100' of large diameter hose (LDH) from a fire hydrant located at the intersection of Klees Mill Road & Enterprise Street. Due to the well progressed fire and partial collapse it proved unsafe for firefigthers to enter the building therefore Tower 12 was utilized to deploy an aerial master stream to extinguish the fire from above. Crews from Winfield, Sykesville, and Gamber worked throughout the evening to extinguish the fire and perform overhaul.

Bolen's Bull Pen Restaurant has been a well known spot in the South Carroll Community and we express our sincere thoughts to the business owners. We hope to see them up and running again soon.

The Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
