On Monday at 2:06p.m. Sykesville Freedom District and surrounding fire departments were alerted for a house fire in the 5500 Block of Strawbridge Terrace in Eldersburg. Engine 123 arrived and reported a single story rancher with fire showing from the front and back of the house. Sykesville crews also reported they had two burned patients in the driveway upon arrival.

Winfield's Engine 142 was the second arriving engine company and backed up the interior crew and assisting with fire attack and overhaul. Engine 141 responded as the Rapid Intervention Crew. Medic 149 transported one of the two burned patients to Bayview Burn Center in Baltimore.

The Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
