October 10, 2016

On Sunday October 9th at 6:22p.m. Winfield, Lisbon, and Mt. Airy Fire Departments were alerted for a vehicle collision with rescue in the 7100 Block of Woodbine Road. While units were responding to the incident scene further information was provided that one of the patients was trapped and unconscious. Based on this information a Maryland State Police Medevac was requested. Chief 14 arrived an assumed the command of the incident while the crews from Engine 141, Rescue Engine 4, and Rescue 1 worked to extricate the patient. Utility 14 established a landing site adjacent to the incident scene for Trooper 3 which flew the driver to Shock Trauma in critical condition. A second patient was transported to Carroll Hospital Center with non-life threatening injuries. The Carroll County Sheriff's Office is investigating the cause of the collision.

Units: Engine 141, Utility 14, Chief 14
