In the early morning hours of January 11, 2013, crews from Winfield Fire Department and Sykesville Fire Department operated at a serious head on crash with one car on fire on Route 97 just North of Liberty Road. One subject was removed from a burning vehicle and one subject was extricated from another vehicle. Both patients were transported to Shock Trauma and have since been released.
A Gala was scheduled for this past April in Baltimore but had to be canceled due the riots. Shock Trauma Representatives attended Winfield's June Membership Meeting to hand out Hero Awards to each of us for our dedication and outstanding contribution to saving lives.
