On Wednesday evening October 8th at 5:49p.m. Winfield Fire Department was alerted for a motor vehicle accident reported serious involving a motorcycle in the 3300 Block of Salem Bottom Road. While units were responding to the scene they were advised one patient was unconscious and a Maryland State Medevac was dispatched. Paramedic 149 arrived and advised the patient was deceased. Engine 141 arrived and Captain 14 (E. Dayhoff) established command. Crews worked to secure the scene for the Carroll County Sherriff's Office which is investigating the accident. Salem Bottom Road remained closed for several hours while the accident was investigated.
