June 15, 2014

On June 15, 2014, many gathered in the Ocean City Convention Center for the 2014-2015 Miss Fire Prevention Contest.

Richard Brooks served as the Master of Ceremonies.

Ten contestants competed for the title.

While the judges deliberated, the outgoing Miss Fire Prevention's Christa Green and Dani Crane gave their farewell speeches.

Brittany Hill representing Carroll County was chosen as MSFA First Runner-Up and Stacey Holden representing the Chief's Association was chosen as the MSFA Miss Fire Prevention 2014-2015.

Miss Winfield/MFCA First Runner-Up Jennifer Franklin will now move up and serve as the MFCA Miss Fire Prevention for the remainder of 2014-2015.

Congratulations to all on a job well done.

Winfield members also took a turn working the Safe Kids booths.

On Tuesday, June 17th, Winfield won a certificate and plaque for the year round category and a plaque for the single fire prevention book entries. Winfield placed 4th overall. A check will be mailed to the department to be utilized for fire prevention.

All Miss Fire Prevention's in attendance were recognized and will be mailed a certificate of participation.

Winfield will also be mailed a $500 check for the grant we received as checks were not prepared in time for this event.

Tyler Gaigalas was recognized as being nominated for Rookie of the Year and Chris Broussard was recognized for being nominated for Top Fire and Top EMS Responder of the Year.

Miss Winfield/MFCA, Jennifer Franklin, also took 3rd place in the pajama parade and participated in the parade Wednesday afternoon as the convention came to a close.
