| On Tuesday, June 18, 2013, representatives from each FD gathered in the Convention Center for the presentation of numerous awards.
The following Winfield members were nominated for awards:
Scott Legore was nominated for the Robert Shimer Administrative Person of the Year award for his numerous years of administrative work for Winfield. Scott was one of ten nominated for this award and received a certificate for his work.
Nick Haspert, Jesse Rutledge, Zach Warner, Chris Broussard and Lenny Logue-Ruckman were nominated for Firefighter of the Year. All received a certificate for their efforts.
The Logue-Ruckman Family will receive a certificate for three generations currently in the fire service.
The Legore Family will receive a certificate for four generations currently in the fire service.
Top Volunteer Emergency Responder Recognition Awards will be sent to John Laster for top fire responder and Nick Haspert for top EMS responder.
Military Service recognition Awards will be sent to Scott Warner, Jason Lowman, Scott Siebert and James Main.
The Warner family and the Legore family were nominated for the Family Award. All family members received a certificate for their families dedication to the Winfield VFD over the years. Out of eight nominations for this award the Legore Family was named Family of the Year. Congratulations to both the Warner's and Legore's for all the work their families have done and continue to do for the Winfield VFD.
Winfield's fire prevention books came in 5th overall winning a certificate, plaque and $50.
Winfield also received a $500 grant from the MSFA/MD State Fire Marshal's Office which will go towards the purchase of fire prevention items for our open house.
Debbie Gartrell-Kemp received the Jane Todd fire prevention award from the LAMSFA.
Doris Jenkins was nominated for the LAMSFA Silver Spring Award and will receive a certificate of participation.
Debbie Gartrell-Kemp won the MSFA Silver Spring Award for Excellence in Fire Prevention by an individual.
